On Sunday, July 12th, 2026, Thomas Jones had a seizure in the NSP Housing Unit 9 classroom. He stopped breathing and slumped off his seat as others called for medical help. Thomas suffered from hypertension which prison medical treatment had not resolved.
 The newspaper will tell you that he was pronounced dead at Lincoln General Hospital, but inmates at turnkey witnessed staff cease resuscitation efforts long before the ambulance arrived at NSP.

 As an Intentional Peer Support mentor Thomas was a model prisoner. A long time shop worker, he was also a student in the Persevere Coding class to become a full stack web developer.
 Out of respect for Thomas, 325 inmates signed petitions to have a memorial plaque placed on the door to the Persevere Coding classroom. NSP Warden Lewien consented to having this sign donated for that purpose. This sign, shown below, was donated by Nebraskapen.org.
 He will be missed, but Thomas will remain a remembered role model and the good example for all inmates that he always was.
